Best Brentwood Spots for Solar Eclipse Viewing

Post Date:08/07/2017 8:44 PM

The City of Brentwood is not hosting an official watch party, but we do have several suggestions for the best solar eclipse viewing spots for Monday August 21, 2017.   For those working in Maryland Farms Office Park, we suggest a short walk to Maryland Way Park located at 5055 Maryland Way or Powell Park located at the corner of Virginia way and Granny White Pike.   Residents could walk or bike to Granny White Park, 610 Granny White Pike, which is the northern most park with sufficient parking.   The Brentwood Library at 8109 Concord Road also has ample parking.  The Eddy Arnold Amphitheatre at Crockett Park, located at 1500 Volunteer Parkway is also an option for viewing the solar eclipse.

Best Brentwood Place to watch the Solar Eclipse

According to www.eclipse2017.org, Brentwood is in the path of totality for the Total Solar Eclipse and can expect to see about one minute and three seconds of totality around 1:28 pm.

It is never safe to look directly at the sun's rays, even if the sun is partly blocked. When watching a total solar eclipse you must wear eclipse glasses at all times if you want to face the sun.
