Brentwood Fire and Rescue Personnel Deploy Ahead of Hurricane Florence
Seven employees with the City of Brentwood left Brentwood City Hall Wednesday September 12, 2018 to head to Camp McCrady South Carolina ahead of Hurricane Florence.
Six fire and rescue personnel will be part of the larger Tennessee Task Force group deployed. Dan Harrison from the Brentwood Technology Department will also be assisting with rescue and communication efforts.
Brentwood City Manager Kirk Bednar said, “We are always willing to help when needed. With a volunteer spirit, we understand the importance of helping our neighbors in times of need.”
Brentwood Fire and Rescue Chief Brian Goss explained at the Monday September 10 regular City Commission meeting that Brentwood is more often called upon due to the more experienced and trained skill level of team members.
The team is expected to be deployed until September 20. This latest deployment comes almost exactly one year to the date in 2017 when Brentwood deployed four employees in September 2017 to assist following Hurricane Irma in Texas.
