DARE Vehicle to be Donated to Marshall County
The Brentwood Police Department plans to donate its 2008 Dodge Nitro/Police D.A.R.E. vehicle to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office. The Brentwood vehicle, estimated at $5,600, has recently been replaced. Drug fund money helped to purchase the vehicle several years ago. and has been used since then for drug education.
Deputy Shawn Grant with the Marshall County Sheriff's Office recently requested the vehicle after explaining they had started a DARE program in 2017, but did not have the adequate funds to grow the program or purchase a vehicle for Drug Education. Deputy Grant said, "my goal this year is to acquire a DARE vehicle and have it wrapped in DARE logos for an "eye catching" promotion of DARE at football and basketball games, our homecoming parade, car shows, and special events at our elementary schools."
