Brentwood Firefighters and Marines Team Up for Toys for Tots

Post Date:11/19/2018

The Brentwood Fire & Rescue Department is teaming up with the United States Marine Corps Reserves, Toys for Tots Program.   Collection is already underway and will continue through December 22 for new and unwrapped toys for underprivileged children throughout Middle Tennessee.

The Marine Toys for Tots program has been delivering a message of hope to less fortunate families since 1947.   For the past ten years, Brentwood Fire and Rescue have also been doing their part to help.  Fire Chief Brian Goss says, “We hope to continue with the success we have had since we began partnering with the U.S. Marines.  It is amazing to see the smiles on kids’ faces who otherwise may not receive one single gift this holiday.”  Last season, Brentwood residents donated 1,800 toys with an estimated total value of almost $19,500.

Staff Sergeant Cameron Bowling with Kilo Company, 3rd Battalion, 24th Marines and the Nashville Area Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program Coordinator is excited for this year’s Toys for Tots. “Toys for Tots continues to assist millions of families nationwide. This would not be possible without organizations like Brentwood Fire & Rescue who were instrumental in the success of the 2017 Toys for Tots campaign in Williamson County.”  Staff Sergeant Bowling added, “Toys for Tots is excited to work with Brentwood Fire & Rescue again this year.   Anyone wishing to receive this service may contact GraceWorks Ministries at 615.794.9055.
