Meet Police Chief Jeff Hughes

photo of Police Chief Jeff Hughes in uniformBrentwood, Tennessee is a peaceful community, free of some crime that occurs in larger cities.  I am honored to serve as Brentwood’s third Police Chief since the city was established in 1969.  The residents of Brentwood can be very proud of this Department and the men and women who commit themselves to providing quality service and ensuring the safety of all.

The Brentwood Police Department strives to maintain a safe community by creating and fostering community partnerships.   Some of those include our Citizen Police Academy where residents can learn behind the scenes and more in depth about what our officers encounter each day.   Our department features two community officers who are in elementary and middle schools each week teaching DARE and other community policing practices to our community’s future leaders.   Over the years, we have presented more than fifteen Community Service Awards to individuals, businesses, and organizations in recognition of their service to the City of Brentwood and support of the Brentwood Police Department.

Our team is dedicated to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.  The Brentwood Police Department has been an Internationally Accredited Law Enforcement Agency since 1989.   Reaccredited in 2017, we are proud to have been awarded the prestigious CALEA Gold Standard Award.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to our website and hope that you enjoy learning more about the Brentwood Police Department.  Feel free to reach out anytime with questions.
