In conjunction with WC-TV, the Williamson County 2020 Census Complete Count Committee (CCC) is happy to announce that that April edition of “Around the County” will be devoted to the 2020 Census and what is being done to enhance awareness and participation in the 2020 Census throughout Williamson County.
View the Program:
WC-tv -- April 1, 2019 at 8am, 1pm and 6pm.
BTV (Brentwood TV channel 19) -- every Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm beginning April 2nd until April 30th
It will also be available on You Tube.
WC-TV will air a special edition(s) of “Around the County” to remind the citizens of Williamson County of the importance of their participation in the 2020 Census. County Mayor (and Host) Rogers Anderson will discuss the upcoming 2020 Census with guests David Thomas (Williamson County IT Department), Eric Stuckey (Franklin City Administrator), and Rick Warwick (Williamson County Historian). Topics to be discussed include how Census data will be used to ensure adequate and equal representation in Federal, State and Local offices, obtain Federal and State program dollars and how the results of the 2020 Census will be used by historians and genealogists (albeit in 72 years).
In the summer of 2018, Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson called together a broad cross-section of Williamson County citizens to serve on the Williamson County CCC. The purpose of the committee, and other, similar committees set up throughout the United States is to:
- Utilize local knowledge, influence and resources to promote the 2020 Census to its residents.
- Provide opportunities for cooperative efforts of the CCC.
- Help the U.S. Census Bureau to count EVERYONE in Williamson County during the 2020 Census.
