To protect the health, safety and welfare of nearby residents, the city requires property owners to keep all weeds and grass mowed. If vegetation exceeds twelve (12) inches high and the owner fails to cut after notification, the city will have the property mowed and the property owner will be charged. Leash Law

City ordinance requires dogs and cats to be kept on a leash whenever they are not on the owner’s property. Complaints about roaming animals should be directed to the Williamson County Animal Centerat 615-790-5590.


The Brentwood Library, operated by the City of Brentwood, is located at 8109 Concord Road between Lipscomb Elementary and the YMCA. The telephone number is 615-371-0090. Library Board

The Brentwood Library Board is a seven-member citizen board appointed by the City Commission. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in the Brentwood Library. Call 615-371-0090 for more information.

Library Foundation

Brentwood Library Foundation is a nonprofit organization chartered in 2002 to solicit and obtain contributions in support of the library. The foundation seeks to fund projects identified by the library's Board of Trustees as worthy enhancements of the reading rooms, collections and programs.  Past projects include funding the reading terrace and renovating the Children's Library.


Litter is removed along roadways and in the public right-of-way by the Public Works Department as time permits. The City also sponsors an "Adopt-A-Mile" program where various groups take responsibility for litter pickup three times a year.
