Public Records
In accordance with Tennessee law, most records maintained by the City of Brentwood are public records available for review. The Tennessee Public Records Act (TPRA) grants Tennessee citizens the right to access open public records that exist at the time of the request. In accordance with this act, access to records will be denied to all individuals who are not Tennessee residents, as verified by a valid Tennessee driver's license. TPRA does not require records custodians to compile information or create records that do not exist. Please see fee schedule for cost associated for printed documents. Please note that T.C.A. § 10-7-504(a)(20)(C) permits charging for redaction of private records.
