Stormwater Management

Did you know?

The City of Brentwood is one of more than 96 Tennessee communities that submits a Notice of Intent (NOI) application to the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) for coverage under the Tennessee phase II MS4 general storm water permit each year. Under this permit, the City of Brentwood operates a stormwater program to manage the quality of storm water runoff from the storm water drainage system. This program consists of six minimum control measures: Education and Outreach, Public Participation, Illicit Discharge Detection, Construction and Development, Post-Construction Inspection and Maintenance, and Good Housekeeping. Additional information on each of these areas is available on the stormwater webpages below or within our MS4 Compliance Plan(PDF, 190KB). Public comments and questions regarding the City’s Stormwater Management Program may be submitted by email to stormwater@brentwoodtn.gov.

We invite you to explore the City of Brentwood’s Public Information and Education (PIE) Plan(PDF, 148KB), which outlines the many ways we engage with the community to protect water quality and promote environmental stewardship. The PIE Plan highlights programs, events, and resources designed to educate residents, involve the public, and ensure compliance with stormwater regulations. Public comments and questions regarding the PIE Plan may be submitted by email to stormwater@brentwoodtn.gov.
