This year, we are proud to honor the memory of WCSO Detention Deputy Robert Andrew Ryan during the Williamson County Battle of the Badges Blood Drive on Wednesday, August 20th, at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library in Brentwood.

Deputy Ryan lost his life due to injuries sustained in an off-duty vehicle accident earlier this summer.

“Deputy Robert Andrew Ryan’s service had only just begun, yet his servant’s heart was clear to everyone who knew him. Let’s honor his legacy by showing up for our neighbors. On August 20, roll up a sleeve in Andrew’s name and help save a life,” said Sheriff Jeff Hughes.

This is the 12th year of this vital drive, uniting the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Brentwood Fire and Rescue, Brentwood Police, and the Nolensville Fire Department to make a significant impact in our community. Remember, every two seconds, someone in the U.S. urgently needs blood.

“The importance of giving blood can’t be understated, and we’re proud to honor the memory of Deputy Ryan,” Brentwood Police Chief Jim Colvin said. “The blood you donate provides one of the tools our first responders need to save lives. And when those first responders put themselves in harm’s way, that blood could allow them to return to their families after a dangerous encounter.”

Deputy Ryan was devoted to serving others, and now it’s time to honor his legacy. Join us in this crucial effort by donating blood and saving lives. Your participation matters!
