BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The Brentwood Historic Commission will host open houses at several of the city's historic properties from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, offering residents an opportunity to explore Brentwood's history through guided visits and self-paced tours.
The free community event will feature open houses at Ravenswood Mansion, the enslaved cabins at Ravenswood, the Cool Springs House, the Boiling Spring Academy, and the restored enslaved Primm Cabins.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the people, places, and events that shaped Brentwood's history while exploring some of the city's most significant historic landmarks. Members of the Brentwood Historic Commission and volunteers will be available at each site to answer questions and share information about the buildings' preservation and historical significance.
The open houses are free and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to visit as many locations as they wish during the afternoon.
The Brentwood Historic Commission works to preserve, protect, and promote the city's historic resources while increasing public awareness and appreciation of Brentwood's rich heritage.
