BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – The City of Brentwood recently named Dale Biggerstaff, a longtime municipal services professional, as the city’s new director of Public Works. He will begin his new role on Monday, Aug. 25.

“Dale has over 29 years of experience leading and managing public water utilities, and he previously worked for the city as the Public Works Department Operations Superintendent,” Jason Gage, Brentwood City Manager, said. “He rejoined us in June as interim director, and he has done a terrific job over the last couple of months, demonstrating caring and responsive leadership.”

Biggerstaff was born and raised in McLeansboro, Illinois, and he graduated from ITT College in Evansville, Indiana, with an associate degree in Electronic Technology. He also studied Business Management at Rend Lake College in Illinois.

In 1996, he joined the Hamilton County Water District, where he worked for 25 years as a water operator and general manager. In that position, he oversaw a $20 million rural water distribution system and maintained more than 400 miles of water mains. Biggerstaff spent eight years as an elected township official in McLeansboro, and in 2012, he was named the Illinois Rural Water Association’s Water Operator of the Year.

He is also a 2024 graduate of the Leadership Brentwood program, hosted by Williamson Inc.
