Debris

Brentwood Public Works will provide free debris removal as part of ongoing recovery efforts. If trees or branches have fallen on your home or private property, (this does not include common areas or HOA owned land) homeowners are responsible for getting tree branches to the public right of way, along the street or curb.

Removal will begin on Thursday, February 5, 2026. All routes normally run for the brush program will be run using 8 trucks simultaneously, going down each residential road a total of 2 times (there may be a week or longer between each time we get to your address). After the 2 complete runs through the city, Public Works will return to its normal brush program pick up and all rules will go back into effect.

Debris must be next to the street or curb, not further than 10 feet, and limbs must be no longer than eight feet. We will not take construction material, root balls or stumps as they will not go through the grinding system.

Follow these guidelines for placing debris in the right-of-way

  • Must be stacked within 10 feet of the curb or edge of street.
  • Must have a 5-foot horizontal clearance of any fixed object, such as a hydrant, mailbox, phone pedestal, pole, etc.
  • It cannot be stacked under the canopy of a tree, even if the pile is five feet from the base of the tree. The machine needs vertical clearance as well.
  • Only downed trees, limbs, and other vegetation accepted.
  • During this emergency, we will accept debris cut by a contractor.
  • Debris must be 14 feet or shorter.
  • No limit on diameter .
  • We are accepting root-balls for this event only.
  • No other waste, construction material allowed.
  • It may take several weeks for debris to removed.

Brentwood Public Works will pick up storm debris as time becomes available. If you have a downed tree that is blocking the road but is NOT entangled with power lines, please call our office at 615-371-0080.
