Community Alert: Beware of Fraudulent Door-To-Door Solicitation

As storm cleanup continues, we anticipate an increase in fraudulent door-to-door solicitation for tree removal and debris cleanup.

Please use caution:

  • Do not pay for services upfront
  • Verify the scope of work in writing before agreeing to any service
  • Be wary of high-pressure tactics or “today only” offers
  • Avoid cash payments whenever possible
  • Make sure they have a Brentwood Peddlers Permit.

In accordance with the Brentwood Municipal Code, Article III, any peddler or canvasser to ply his trade in any residential area within the corporate limits of Brentwood must first obtain a permit.

If they don’t show a permit and/or reuse to leave, contact the Brentwood Police Department at 615-371-0160.

When available, use local, established businesses and individuals you can verify.

If something feels off, trust your gut. Scammers count on urgency and confusion. Don’t give them either.
