Granny White Parks Closed for Next Few Weeks

As part of the City’s storm recovery efforts, Granny White Park will be mostly closed to the public, beginning Feb. 5 and continuing for approximately 10 weeks.

The City is working with schools and designated service providers to ensure their essential programs can continue.  Parking for these events, which are all after 3 p.m., will be at Brentwood High School’s north parking lot.  Tennis court reservations will be allowed after 3 p.m., with parking at BHS also.

The reason for this is the City has an estimated 150,000 cubic yards of debris to dispose of due to Winter Storm Fern.  For reference, a City of Brentwood grapple truck has a 30 cubic yard capacity.  This is the equivalent of 5,000 truckloads of debris.  There are very few places where we can store and process volumes this large, and in northwest Brentwood, Granny White Park is our only option.  The other locations will be the Brentwood Service Center, Crockett Park, and Brentwood's Safety Center East.

Thank you for your understanding as we help get Brentwood back on its feet.  We will reopen the park as soon as possible.
