Wilson Pike is one of the most important north/south state roads serving Brentwood, located just east of I-65. Sections north of Concord Road are substandard, with narrow lane widths, no shoulders, and severe vertical and horizontal curves. The City plans to conduct a study to determine improvements that will address overall safety concerns and accommodate growing traffic demand. Comprehensive improvements are subject to TDOT scheduling and funding.
Potential improvements include protected turn lanes at higher-volume intersections and minor safety improvements at other substandard sections. The study aims to define the scope of potential projects, identify preliminary right-of-way challenges related to utilities, historic sites, and other factors, and provide initial cost estimates.
