Brush Program

CITY GRAPPLE TRUCK WITH STAFF OPERATING

NOTICE!

  1. WHEN IT IS RAINING... KEEP YOUR BROWN BAGS AT THE CURB! Do not continue to drag them back and forth out of the weather. They will not fall apart if you leave them alone.
  2. WE ARE NOT PICKING UP CONTRACTOR PILES ANY MORE!

No matter where we are in the schedule... ALWAYS put your brush out to the curb on YOUR assigned week.  Failure to do so could result in you missing your pickup. If that happens, we do NOT backtrack so you will either have to wait until the next month or dispose of it yourself.

We are still seeing a lot of contractor piles out for our regular brush pickup.  Please take note that we will not pick up these piles. It is your responsibility to talk with your contractor when giving a quote for work for them to add on removal.

Our Mission

To provide brush removal to homeowners, residing in the home, that do routine trimming and pruning of the property landscape.

Please Do

  • Check the schedule to see when we will be in your neighborhood. You can check by street name or subdivision.
  • Have your pile out at the curb the Sunday evening of your assigned week.
  • Use paper bags for leaves, grass clippings or small brush clippings.

Please Don't

  • DO NOT- Put brush in the common area Or HOA owned property.
  • DO NOT-Park a vehicle within 10 feet of your stacked pile.
  • DO NOT-Hire a contractor or any 3rd party to do do yard work and then stack the brush at the curb. This service is for the work that YOU the homeowner have done. yourself. If you do hire a service, you need to have them remove the debris upon completion of their work on your property.
  • DO NOT- Put tiny stacks of piles all along your property line. Make one big pile on your own property either out front or on the side in a safe location.
You can stack this pile as high as you like but not under a tree or power line and not further than 10 feet from the curb.
  • DO NOT- Assume that because you saw us on a Wednesday of your assigned week for the last year that means it is your day of the week. It is not. That is pure coincidence and luck. Please put your debris out by Sunday of your assigned week to avoid being missed. Once we have run your week, we will NOT be back until the following month so please do not call to make a request to have us come back because you missed us.

Did you know?

  1. The City of Brentwood offers brush collection once a month to all residents on residential streets.  This service cost the city roughly $500,000 annually.    To continue this free service, we ask that you follow the rules set forth by the City and enforced by the Department.
  2. The free Brush Removal Service operated by the City of Brentwood is designated to accommodate routine trimming and pruning done by the homeowner, residing in the home.  Without limitations, the City would be unable to service all homes monthly.
  3. If you have large amounts of brush and large trees removed by commercial landscaping services , it must be disposed of by the company.  If you hire someone to cut your brush, be sure that the cost of hauling the brush, yard waste and other debris away is included in the price estimate you receive.
  4. We offer our service year-round. So we come through each neighborhood, January - December and will pick up your brush pile and will even remove your Christmas tree when you are done with it from the day after Christmas until mid January.
  5. Our Department has 6 grapple trucks that run the brush routes daily with a mechanical arm that assists the staff with not only physical fatigue but safety as well.
  6. If you put your paper bags out to the curb and it rains before we get to your home, leave them. Do not move them. Moving them will lessen the integrity of the strength of the paper and make them weaker. If they fall apart when we pick them up, no worries, we will clean it up before we move on to the next house

Convenience Centers

Your local convenience centers will be accepting your small brush piles, starting May 4th.  The pile must be level with the flatbed of a pickup truck and NO LONGER than 3 feet in length. This is a nonnegotiable and you will turned away for attempting to bring larger piles or bigger limbs.  If you need to dispose of bigger pieces, please go to the Williamson County Landfill at 5750 Pinewood Rd, Franklin, TN.
