Brentwood Tree Board Hosting Oct. 1 Tree Talk on Managing Invasives

At 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 1, the Tree Board will host its second Tree Talk, “How to Deal with Invasives,” at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library’s Main Meeting Room. The board developed the free lecture series to engage and educate Brentwood residents about different tree-related topics.

Brentwood and Morning Rotary Club to Open Time Capsule Oct. 5

The time capsule was a joint project between the Brentwood Morning Rotary Club and the City of Brentwood. At 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, the two organizations will host the Brentwood Millennium Time Capsule Opening Ceremony to reveal what was buried more than 20 years ago.

Brentwood Library Updates Friends Gathering Room

In 2017, Holt left the city $4.2 million with the request that the city name its library in honor of her late husband, John P. Holt. The city agreed, and they also established the Holt Fund, which allows for 25 percent of the donation to be used for enhancements to the facility.
